Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I pay for doula services?

When considering doula services, determining how to pay for them can be challenging at times. I want you to feel at ease with your decision and not strapped for funds when your little angel arrives so there are a few ways to do this:

    1. Paying in full the day you sign the contract agreement makes you eligible for an instant $25 discount (that's a box of diapers!)

    2. My simple payment plan option for all birth packages allows you to pay half of the cost the day you sign the contract agreement and the other half will be due by your 36 week mark.

    3. Have Medicaid? Depending on your insurer I may be able to bill them directly with no up front cost to you.

Have a Health Savings Account or private insurance? You can check with your  provider to see if a full reimbursement is possible!  Just let me know and I will provide you with a receipt and necessary information to easily receive your funds back.

      4. For overnight postpartum service, there is no commitment schedule. You simply pay as you need me per night prior to each shift.

  • Will my partner feel replaced by a doula?

No. We work as a team. I personally enjoy acting as a coach by telling your partner how to help you all while filling in the gaps to ensure you are being pampered to the max.

  • Is a doula worth it if I am going to be in the hospital/have an epidural/etc?

Absolutly! In fact you will need just as much help despite the fact that you will be medicated. With epidurals, you still must change positions to encourage labor progression as well as for the health of your baby so a doula will help move you when you're legs are numb and too heavy to be moved by yourself. We encourage and coach you throughout the pushing phase too!

  • Do I need a doula if I have a midwife?

Yes! Doulas and midwives perform completely separate jobs. A midwife is a trained medical professional who is able to deliver babies and perform a variety of procedures. Doulas offer physical and emotional support, but do not perform any medical tasks or interfere with them. Midwives and doulas love to work together.
